AIRC looks at new roadmap for 2015-2017

The General Meeting of the International Car body Repair Association (AIRC) held in Zagreb, Croatia, May 15 and 16 2014, was attended by representatives from European member organizations and the AIRC Secretariat. The AIRC was chaired by Mrs Hilde Vander Stichele.

The Meeting deliberated on the Roadmap for the AIRC (2015-2017). The Meeting exchanged views on how to enhance cooperation in a number of priority areas, such as access to technical information, education, training, and quality standards. Also the repositioning and reshaping of the AIRC in its international environment has been part of deliberations. The Meeting also discussed the status of joint projects in areas such as research and development, labor conditions and environment. The General Meeting was unanimous in applauding the out-going Secretary of the Greek association EOBEAMM, Mr Andreas Berdoulis, for his stewardship in taking the AIRC Roadmap process in Zagreb forward. The next General Meetings of the AIRC will be held in Brussels (2014) and Edinburgh (2015).

Formed in 1970, the AIRC is the global federation of leading national trade organizations in the area of vehicle repairs. These member organizations together represent more than 50,000 vehicle repair companies. The AIRC Secretariat is based in the Netherlands. It coordinates and monitors implementation of activities, prepares for and services meetings, and serves as a channel of communication between the Association and its Member organizations. The Secretariat is headed by the Secretary General. Mr Karel Bukholczer is the Secretary General.
